Do Buyers Go to the Home Inspection?

One of the questions we get asked routinely is, do buyers go to the home inspection? Who is there?  What can I expect that day?  Generally, buying a home means you are a bundle of questions and nerves.  It’s a stressful time and we understand that.

When asked that question, who is at the home inspection? Do buyers go to the home inspection? Can I attend the home inspection? Should I be at the home inspection?  Again, every purchase is different, but when you can be there, we generally say, yes.  Yes, you can go as you are hiring us AND yes, you should go, as it’s the best time to learn about your possible new home.

Although you will receive a report that will include the deficiencies found with narrative and color photos, sometimes it helps to see something in person.  You will have the opportunity to see it.  You will have the opportunity to see the deficiency. You will have the ability to inquire the seller if there.  You will have the opportunity to discuss it with the inspector.  Yes, our phones and inboxes are there for you to ask questions- no problem.  But sometimes, seeing it in person is beneficial.

Sometimes, you can see things that help you make the final decision or answer any questions lingering in your head.  Your agent is generally there as well.  There are many times when the seller stays and there are times when their agent is there too.  Every scenario is different.

But the question of do buyers go to the home inspection.  My answer is generally yes!  Come! Ask questions! Follow the inspector! Learn about your (almost) new home! It’s an exciting day.  Generally, you have not been in the home since before the offer was accepted, so it’s a great day to get back in there and remember why you fell in love with that home!
